Accreditation
AAOMC Accreditation Programs for Myopia Management and Orthokeratology: Supporting Excellence in the Field.
The AAOMC is a professional organization dedicated to promoting excellence in the field of myopia control and orthokeratology. The organization offers a variety of educational programs and resources to support practitioners, researchers, and others interested in this area of study. The AAOMC also advocates for greater awareness and understanding of myopia management and orthokeratology among the general public and other healthcare professionals.
One way that the AAOMC supports the advancement of the field is by offering three levels of accreditation: Certified Myopia Management Navigator (CMN), International Academy Certification in Myopia Management (IACMM), and Fellow of the International Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopia Control (FIAOMC).
The CMN designation is intended for individuals who have a basic understanding of myopia management and orthokeratology and are interested in incorporating these techniques into their practice. The IACMM designation is for those who have a more advanced understanding of myopia management and orthokeratology and have completed a comprehensive training program. Finally, the FIAOMC designation is reserved for those who have demonstrated a high level of expertise in myopia management and orthokeratology through a combination of education, training, and experience.
By offering these accreditation programs, the AAOMC seeks to promote the highest standards of care in myopia management and orthokeratology and to recognize individuals who have demonstrated a commitment to excellence in this area of study.
