The AAOMC, through our workshops, courses, and fellowship program, allows our members to grow in competence and demonstrate this ability to their peers and the public. Through our innovations, the AAOMC forwards the science of Orthokeratology.
We’re a passionate community with a mission to elevate modern practice. Welcome to the future of specialty care for patients struggling with myopia.
So, What is Ortho-k?
This is a revolutionary non-surgical procedure that eliminates the need for glasses or daytime contact lenses. It improves vision by gently reshaping your eye WHILE YOU SLEEP using specially designed therapeutic contact lenses. You just put the specially fitted lenses in at bedtime, and when you awake, you will have clear, sharp, natural vision for your waking hours.
This safe and effective treatment can correct near-sightedness (including high prescriptions), farsightedness, astigmatism and presbyopia (blurred near vision). It is a great alternative to LASIK for those who don’t want the risk or are not ready for surgery. Click on the video below to learn more!
Distinctive Care for Patients
Patients worldwide are seeing tremendous benefits through ortho-k. Many doctors have become highly interested in providing a course of myopia management for their younger pateints to get in front of future problems. With the rise of screen use, the issue is only becoming more pronounced. The AAOMC exists to empower both providers and patients with tools to beat myopia together!
Scaling The Optometric Specialty
The demand for myopia care has created a growing need for ortho-k providers. The AAOMC can help ODs find their next steps into the myopia management space. Then, our membership tracks allow for training and sharpening of skills related to this practice. Doctors can leverage our group of experts for insights, tools, and training to scale the speciality care at their office.
